Meet our Guides

Kelly Pietraroia is the proud mom of two children. Her oldest child is profoundly deaf with cochlear implants. Kelly graduated from ECSU with a double major in early childhood education and psychology. She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening,  and hiking with their rescue dog. She is passionate about helping others and providing them support in any way that she can as their parent guide

Cheryl Hershatter is the proud mother of an adult son with hearing loss. Cheryl has a degree in education and counseling. Cheryl retired from her position as education consultant for the Bureau of Education and services for the Blind. She has also taught classes at the University of Massachusetts. Cheryl enjoys traveling, hiking, biking, kayaking and volunteering for a number of different agencies. Cheryl has enjoyed her role as Parent Guide and looks forward to connecting with more families.
